I Choose Life and I Choose to Forgive Pt 2- Donna Harris

In Part 2 of this most powerful interview, Donna Harris continues to share about her feelings of anger, rejection, fear, and thoughts of murder.

But God! He is our Healer and mighty Deliverer!

Donna Harris was born in Chicago, Illinois. She was the  third oldest child. Donna grew up in a non-Christian home. Although, her mother was a single parent, nevertheless, Donna did have a relationship with her father. As a young child, Donna remembers her grandmothers taking care of them while her mom was traveling. Her mom was a model.

Then one day her mother moved them out of their apartment into a house with her boyfriend. Donna was seven years old. Her mother stopped working and began drinking alcohol.

Donna noticed her mom’s boyfriend walking around with less and less clothes. He also started giving her plenty money and instructed her to stay quiet. She told her mom about it. Her boyfriend lied and said she stole the money. Her mother reacted by locking her in the basement. 

Then one day, Donna, was at home alone with her mom’s boyfriend. He made some vulgar remarks to her about sex.

After telling her mom, she was locked in the basement again for about 3 days without food. She then learned out of her fear to stay quiet. Her mom’s boyfriend continued to give her money. He retired from the Chicago Transit System and every thing went downhill very quickly thereafter.
